Lets see, how should I describe Sushi Ya? I see this place as the "Walmart" of Sushi restaurants. The service is absolutely atrocious, the hostess/owner is rude and should consider taking some customer service training. In addition, the restaurant employs an individual whom would probably serve betters as a bodyguard to ensure that those not participating in "all you can eat" at that particular table are not breaking the all you can eat rules. It was quite uncomfortable when the "bodyguard" or the SUSHI Nazi as I like to refer to him, stopped and watched all of us to make sure that we are not "cheating". Furthermore, the sushi is not fresh, and overall mediocre is too high of a definition. In closing, I have attended the restaurant several times and each time Sushi Ya has been disappointing. All you can eat sushi? No thank you! Quality over quantity!

Heres my experience. Stopping through Twin Falls to visit friends, we all wanted some sushi. My friends all suggested Sushi Ya, I was a bit skeptical being from out of town and reading the reviews here, but I trust my friends opinions and we went here. Oh man was I blown away. Not only are their prices better than we could ever get where I live, and being in Idaho the fish was super fresh. All you can eat sushi for $18.95 is a steal. The restaurant was very clean and service staff was very friendly. We had alot of people so we ordered a variety of things from nigiri to rolls. Food came surprisingly fast for how busy it was. I loved the Rocky Mountain and salmon nigiri. Would definitely come back again next time Im in Idaho.

So here's the deal. We yelped sushi places and saw that this was poorly reviewed. However, the hotel staff where we stayed strongly recommended Sushi Ya over Sushi Tokyo which was highly rated on Yelp. Soooooo....this place sucks. It was the worst sushi either of us have ever had. I ordered the rainbow roll which was not only made incorrectly (the different fish were INSIDE the roll) but the rice was overlooked and the fish itself had little flavor. I also ordered the spicy tuna roll with equally overcooked rice and poor quality tuna. Also, the "low salt" soy sauce was clearly mislabeled. Tasted like a salt lick. The best part of the meal was the Asaho beer. It was so bad that we did not finish the sushi and drove to Sushi Tokyo to try it out.

As far as cheap sushi goes, this place is great. In nearby towns, the only sushi restaurants of comparable quality are twice the price. The all-you-can-eat is a seriously good deal. I'm a big fan of the Las Vegas roll.

You get a lot of food for the price. The all-you-can-eat deal is a GOOD deal. I just wish they had more of a selection. They serve a lot of rice in their rolls. But I will definitely come back for their lunch specials. So far I recommend the Godzilla roll.

Good place not a home run, but vary good and the price is nice. their rolls have a great flavor and the staff was delightful. All in all a must if sushi is your thing!

The food here is great and has a good price. I like the service from some waiters. They are friendly and inviting. Always busy. Menu has lots of options for those that don't eat sushi. Love it.

The sushi here is pretty good but not the best. The only saving grace this place has for me is the all you can eat for 19$. The sushi is better at Tokyo sushi is better but u pay for it.

You have to be kidding me. I have been to this place twice, and both times the food was great. However, on my last visit, I chose to sit in the corner of the bar with my daughter. I wish so much I wouldn't have. We began eating and all was well. Half way through dinner, I placed my phone on the chair next to me. To my surprise I look down and the was mouse poop all over the chair. I made the further mistake of using my phone light to look around under and on top of the counter. Mouse poop and spider webs everywhere. I was disgusted. The serving plates are less than 18 inches from this spot. I couldn't keep eating. I mentioned it to the chef and she stared at me like she couldn't understand a word I said. I felt physically sick and got up and paid the bill and got out. It is so imperative that raw foods be prepared in a bacteria free environment. It blew my mind that they had overlooked this area for so long. If that area was able to be let go. ..what areas do the customers not see. I will never go back, and I paced a notice with the health department. Very dangerous!

ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI!? ONLY ABOUT $20!? Sounds great! Oh.. except that the old lady (hostess? owner? not sure.) will give you a major attitude if she thinks you've had enough. They stop coming to your table after 2 orders, you literally have to flag someone down, or get up and ask for another sushi menu. And as you order more, the pieces of fish get thinner and thinner, until you can almost see through them, and the wad of rice gets fatter and fatter. And besides, the sushi just isn't very good. I did give them 2 stars, instead of 1 because they have something called crystal shrimp that is actually pretty delicious.

Best sushi in town! I've lived all over the US and on the coast, and for price/quality - this is the place I always choose to get sushi in Twin Falls. INSIDER TIPS: - Go for lunch during the week (not weekends) and do AYCE (all you can eat) for $13.99 - If you go on the weekend/evening it will be $18.99, but you get more options. I think there are plenty of options for the lunch AYCE, so I rarely go nights/weekends. - The owner lady who is usually there looks intimidating, but she's actually really sweet. - Up at the check out counter, there are MORE ORDER CARDS to mark if you want to order more rolls (or if you're splitting the check). GO GRAB A FEW EXTRAS IF YOU NEED THEM. They don't mind, and it takes two seconds. There's also extra pens up there. - Many times the staff will not want to disturb your table, so you have to flag them down when you're ready to order or when you need more drinks. But they always seems excited to help; I think they just don't want to interfere. Favorite Rolls: -Hybrid Roll -Godzilla -Sunset Hands down favorite roll: Rocky Mountain Roll - not part of lunch AYCE - Crystal Shrimp roll with a variety of raw fish (sashimi) strips on top - fairly large roll

Large menu but not very fresh fish. It is expensive and service can be spotty. Prefer to eat at sushi Tokyo in twin

I've given this place quite a few chances but my last time cemented my opinion. We usually got this take out, which was ok. Being from southern Idaho I will admit my sushi experiences are pretty limited, but it has always tasted fine. My main concerns revolve around the restaurant itself. When I started going years ago it seemed clean and the staff was accommodating, not friendly but accommodating. I can deal with that. But the last few times I have gone it seems to have gotten worse. Something as simple as asking for a refill of ice water required me to get up and go to the register. I understand things get forgotten, but asking three times is a little much. Also after two orders of all you can eat we had to practically chase down a sever to take a third. But my main issue now is the cleanliness if the dining room. The menus are sticky like they haven't been wiped down in ages. The soy sauce on the center of the tables is the same. Even the center of the table itself had a coat of sticky, greasy film in it. This last time I was seated by a wall and the amount of boogers smeared on the wall made me lose my appetite all together. Dried rice and whatever else clumped up in the corners of the floor. I noticed the cleanliness declining the last couple times I have been and hoped it was temporary, but it's been a year and it seems to be the norm. I know kids are gross and will smear things on walls, but the walls do not appear to have been cleaned in quite sometime. When I see a dining room in this condition it makes me question the cleanliness of the kitchen, and beings they specialize in seafood that concerns me greatly. I considered two stars because the food is ok, but considering everything I couldn't justify even two stars.

There are a lot of mixed reviews about this place, so I wanted to give it a try to see for myself. The conclusion: I'm not a fan. What I ordered (don't judge, it was all-you-can-eat): - Hybrid Roll - New Orleans Roll - Hamachi Nigiri - Scallop Nigiri - Octopus Nigiri - Upside-down Shrimp Nigiri Overall the food was average to below average. It is definitely a quantity over quality type of place. One of the guys I was with said "you get what you pay for" and that is definitely true. With sushi, quality is what I want. I didn't get the feeling the fish was very fresh and the Hamachi was definitely nearing (possibly past) its best-if-used-by date. The only bright spot was the Hybrid Roll which was pretty good. The service was ok, but a little slow. The hostess was very friendly. None of the sushi chefs were Japanese, but, hey, we are in Idaho. What surprised me was how many people there were at this place. We went at 12:30pm and had to wait about 10 minutes to get seated. I don't understand why this place is packed and the other sushi place in town is usually empty. The other place has much better food. The only thing I can conclude is that people are not willing to pay for quality sushi. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's too bad because if the food was good then the AYCE special would be a great deal... Oh well...

I have been here twice. Disappointed both times while having all-you-can-eat sushi. It's not worth the $18 and some change, so save your hard working money! Sushi was not fresh and lacked taste. On top of that the wasabi was not spicy at all, FAIL. Food came out at a reasonable time and service was OK, but most of all the food was a downer. Won't be returning. P.S. don't order the rock and roll!! had to force it down my throat without gagging.

What's this ... a veritable sushi oasis in rural southern Idaho? Oh yes! While no one will confuse this with sushi on the Ginza, it is still pretty darn good sushi. This is especially true since it's all-you-can-eat for only $18.85 (dinner) or $13.95 (lunch). Who would have thought you could find sushi like this in a place like Twin Falls? They have a surprisingly wide variety of choices. I strongly recommend the Godzilla, Rainbow, Mama, and Barney Rubble rolls. These are always good choices and I get these every time. The nigiri sushi is always fresh tasting and meaty. The best thing about this place is that it's an inexpensive way to get introduced to a lot of different types of sushi. There are better (and far more expenses) sushi places around, but you ALWAYS get your money's worth here.

I went to lunch here with a friend after several people told us it was good and better than another sushi restaurant we enjoy. We should have stayed with the place we like. This place was not good. The staff was unfriendly bordering on rude. The owner and sushi chefs never smiled or looked happy. The food was not very good. It did not have a good flavor and I felt rather sick for the rest of the day.

This was one of our stopovers during last year's road trip towards Vancouver, BC. The sushi all-you-can was terrific! Can't remember the price, but for what we ate--rolled sushi, nigiri sushi, hand-rolled sushi--we made out like bandits. One reviewer commented about not getting good service at the table. We sat the sushi bar--and our server was attentive, and made sure that the sushis kept coming until we quit. So, perhaps this would have accounted for the difference in the service. I vaguely remember the lady owner. If she was copping a major attitude, I'm glad I was utterly oblivious to it, not when my belly was completely full and satisfied from bingeing on so much sushi LOL Twin Falls surprised me--we stayed at this very nice Shilo Inn. Just gorgeous room, with a wonderful walk-in shower. The room was a nice size. Pretty close to where we were staying in was a bridge, that if I recall collectly, was sitting atop a geologically important structure. You gotta be there to know what I'm talking about. Anyway, back to the sushi--we were happy with it. And wouldn't mind making this place a standard stopover for us during another road trip to the Northwest.

Stick with Tokyo.

Great place with a decent selection. I usually really enjoy coming here but am sad to report service has taken a downturn. Food is still fantastic just not the happy place it used to be. Service has really slowed down and wait staff. Has become inattentive. I will probably still come here just not as often.

I would definitely recommend the all you can eat sushi, they have a great selection and a good price.

Sushi Ya (Twin Falls) serves OK sushi, but unfortunately the service is terrible. Once you have consumed what they (owners/hired help) consider to be enough, they ignore you and eventually bring you a bill. Most times, I frequent Sushi Ya with a friend and typically we each order two rolls and two pieces of Hamachi nigiri. After we have consumed the rolls + nigiri we no longer get waited on. The worst server ever is a fat, little toad-of-man, mid-fifties we have nicknamed "Igor". ...He sucks! Try Sushi Tokyo if you want excellent service.
